We will be popping up all over the city so you can vote. From local businesses to library, community meetings to community centers. You can even go online or on your phone. We will share a map of all the places next spring.
Anyone living OR working in the City of Richmond above the age of 14.
Most importantly, unhoused residents, people with criminal records, and those new to the country can participate.
Citizens can vote on 3 projects per district and 2 city-wide projects.
Voting will take place in person and online (available in English, Spanish and ASL)
RVAPB.org will be a hub for educating the community on the process and providing status updates
You can also follow our socials!
RVA PB wants to hear all of your ideas, no project is too small or too large! Listening is how we can better understand our community members, any projects that cannot be funded this cycle will automatically be included in the pot of ideas for the next cycle.
In general, RVAPB will fund smaller-scale civic improvements that are defined as a direct need and are easily achievable
Projects will be graded on the following criteria [Community Need, Project Impact, Equity, Cost]
The RVAPB Commission will do a first look through and then city officials. Eventually Budget Committees, groups of residents, will then work to define the ideas that move forward to become projects.
There will be approximately 6 budget committees with 5-7 delegates each. Each will be expected to volunteer 5 hours per week for up to 6-months
Apply to be a budget delegate here!
RFPs (Request For Proposals) will be created for the winning projects
We'll take the following into considerations when selecting contractors
